What we are, and what we are not
Storm Season Experts is an independent publisher of educational material for homeowners handling storm insurance claims. We are not a roofing contractor, not a public adjuster, not a law firm and not an insurer. We do not represent policyholders, do not contact insurers on anyone's behalf, do not adjust, negotiate or settle claims, and take no percentage of any settlement. We accept no referral fees from contractors, adjusters, attorneys or carriers, and we run no affiliate advertising.
Why that matters more than credentials
After a storm, every party offering a homeowner information is paid by the outcome. Roofing companies publish free claim guides because they want the roof job. Public adjusters publish free claim guides because they want a contingency of fifteen to twenty five percent. Insurers publish guidance that serves the insurer. None of that is corrupt, it is just how the money moves, but it leaves the homeowner as the only party with no independent source.
Our revenue is a single fixed price paid by the reader. It is identical whether your claim pays nothing or half a million dollars, and identical whichever contractor you hire, or if you hire none. That is the only structural reason to trust an information source, and it is the reason this site exists in the form it does.
The limits, stated plainly
Because we are not licensed to represent policyholders, everything we publish is built for you to use yourself, in your own name. We cannot review your policy, we cannot tell you whether your specific claim is covered, and we cannot speak to your carrier. Those are the jobs of a licensed public adjuster or an attorney, and where a claim genuinely needs one, our material says so and explains how to find one rather than pretending a document can substitute.
We also do not cover flood claims, which run under a separate federal programme with different rules and much shorter deadlines, commercial property, or renters claims. The free Claim Position Check will tell you when you are outside our scope, and will say so rather than selling you something.
How we handle facts
Every statistic on this site is published with its source on the home page, so it can be checked before anything else here is trusted. Where something is a general pattern rather than a rule, we say so. Insurance is state-specific and policy-specific, and any source that gives you a confident universal answer about your coverage is overreaching.
What we sell
One product, at one price. The Storm Claim File is $249, paid once, with a sixty day unconditional refund. There is no subscription, no upsell, no call, and no premium tier. If it does not earn its price, write to us and it is reversed without questions.
